Once you have successfully created a Goal or Case Note Folder on a client's record, you can add daily case notes to the Goal.

1.     Open the Client's record in HMIS.

2.     From Client Information, click the Case Plans tab.


3.     Reviewing the Provider and Classification columns, locate the correct Goal or Case Note Folder and click on the                   Notebook icon under the Notes column for that Goal


        IMPORTANT: Ensure you are entering case notes in the Goal for your Provider




4.    The Case Notes window will open.  Click Add Case Note.

5.    On the next window correctly populate the Provider, Case Manager and Note Date and  enter in your note.  


6.    Click Save Case Note.


IMPORTANT: Once a note is entered and saved, there is no way of deleting or editing it.  Be sure to check that you are in the correct Client's record, that your note content is appropriate for HMIS, and that spelling is accurate before clicking Save Case Note.  



WHAT NOT TO DO

DO NOT create a new Goal every time you add a daily case note.  Continue to add each day's case notes to the same, relevant Goal (Case Note Folder)
